SMART MARRIAGES WITH PREP

The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) is the product of one of the largest longitudinal studies of couples ever conducted.

Psychologists Howard Markman, Scott Stanley and others at the University of Denver have been able to identify reliable predictors of marital success or failure.

Their important discoveries have been incorporated into a dynamic and enjoyable skills-training workshop to assist couples in identifying those areas of relationships that have the most potential to enhance or slowly unravel their romantic bond.  Specific strategies are then presented for managing those areas that are the most amenable to effective change.

It is important to note that these strategies are not based on some abstract theoretical construct, but arise from direct observation of what really works for the couples participating in their research studies.

The workshop is intended  for newly-engaged or newly-wedded couples who would like to insure that they avoid the most common and predictable pitfalls many couples encounter over the life of a marriage.

It is also very useful for couples who have been married for some time and are beginning to experience the increasing stress of dual careers, a new baby, a new teenager, an empty nest, or perhaps just the beginning of a noticeable breakdown in effective communications.

After training directly with Drs. Markman and Stanley to present these concepts in a workshop setting,  I was impressed with how useful many of these materials were with couples who had already developed significant marital discord  and had sought my assistance in traditional marital therapy.  I  often hear comments like the following: "if only we had learned these skills sooner we could have saved ourselves so much heartache..."

Come, join us at our next workshop to renew or protect your investment in each other.
